Eligibility criteria changed for this year
IISER Admission 2020 Notification has been released. It will be organized by the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research. IISER organizes a national level test known as IISER SCB Aptitude test to offer admission in 5 year dual degree programme of BS-MS. Admission will be done through three channels – SCB, KVPY and on the basis of JEE Advanced exam. While JEE Advanced & KVPY are national level examination, but SCB is an only stream through which candidates will get admission on the basis of entrance test which IISER will conduct. Admission will be offered into seven IISER institutions situated in Tirupati, Mohali, Bhopal, Berhampur, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram and Kolkata.
COURSES OFFERED
- BS-MS (Dual Degree)
- It is a five-year degree program for bright and motivated science students who have passed class 10+2 or equivalent. Most IISERs offer BS-MS (Dual Degree) in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics. Earth and Environmental Sciences is available at select IISERs. - The BS-MS program integrates classroom learning with research and provides ample scope for multidisciplinary interactions. The program consists of core courses in basic sciences and specialization in chosen subjects along with an MS research project. The training during this program enables students to pursue careers in academia, R&D institutes, and industries.
- Additionally, IISER Bhopal offers four year BS programmes in Economics and Engineering Sciences. Mathematics at 10+2 level is mandatory for candidates seeking admission to both these BS programmes

Eligibility
- Candidates who have passed 10+2 or equivalent level exam with science stream in 2019 or 2020 are eligible to apply for admissions. Candidates will be admitted to IISER only through following three channels.
- Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) channel
- Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Advanced) of the Indian Institutes of Technology
- State and Central Boards Channel (SCB)
SCB Channel
- Students who have passed 10+2 level with science stream in 2019 or 2020 are eligible to apply for admissions and appear for IAT 2020
- However, they will be considered for admissions to the degree programmes only if they obtain the cut-off marks specified for their board.
- Students applying through SCB channel will have to appear in the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) which will be conducted at various centres across the country.

- PERFORMANCE CRITERIA IN CLASS XII (OR EQUIVALENT) BOARD EXAMINATION FOR IISER ADMISSION 2020:
- PHYSICS,CHEMISTRY,BIOLOGY ORMATHS TOTAL 3 SUBJECTS 3X100 =300MARKS
- One language (if the candidate has taken more than one language course, then the language course with the highest marks will be considered)- 100 MARKS
- Any subject other than the ones used in the above four (the subject with highest marks will be considered) -100 MARKS
- TOTAL 500 MARKS
KVPY Channel
- Candidates having a valid KVPY fellowship commencing from 2020-21 academic session are eligible to apply for admissions. Additional cut-off criteria for marks obtained in 10+2 board examination is also applicable.
JEE Advance Channel
- Candidates in General category securing a rank within 10000 in the Common Rank List (CRL) of JEE Advanced 2020 are eligible to apply. For candidates belonging to the reserved category (OBC-NC, SC, ST, PD), their category rank should be within 10000. Additional cut-off criteria for marks obtained in 10+2 board examination is also applicable.
