For B.Des, candidates indicate preferred specialisation during application. However, final assignment is made by an IICD-constituted committee based on the student's performance during the 1-year Foundation Semester and aptitude shown. IICD reserves the right to change the number of seats per specialisation.

Materials Required for Test B — Bring These Items
As per official IICD Admission Guidelines 2026 — for the Material, Color & Conceptual Test candidates need:
Pens · Pencils (HB, 2B, 4B & 6B) · Scissors · Scale · Cello tape · Paper cutter · Fevistick · Eraser · Compass · Colour pencils / Dry pastels / Watercolour paints and brushes.
The test involves hands-on material handling and 3D conceptual form creation. Exact task details will be in the downloaded question paper (April 5, 2026).

IICD official guidelines recommend keeping your creative work samples ready during the WhatsApp Video Call interview. This includes: sketches, paintings, embroidery, photography, material-based work, creative writing — anything you've created yourself. No formal format required. Share on screen during the call. A strong portfolio significantly helps evaluators understand your creative capability.

Official IICD Admission Guidelines state: "IICD does not recommend any coaching classes." The entrance test evaluates natural creativity, visual intelligence, and hands-on material aptitude.
