Eligibility Criteria — NEET UG 2026
Official NMC1
Nationality
Indian Nationals, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), and Foreign Nationals are all eligible to appear in NEET UG 2026.

Minimum Age
Candidate must have completed 17 years of age on or before December 31, 2026.
- General / EWS: Born on or before 31 December 2009
- SC / ST / OBC-NCL / PwBD / PwD: Born on or before 31 December 2009

Academic Qualification — Class 12 / Equivalent
Candidates must have passed (or be appearing in) Class 12 or equivalent with the following subjects:
- Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology (with practicals)
- English as a compulsory subject
- Biology / Biotechnology can also be taken as an additional subject after Class 12 (as per NMC Public Notice dated 22.11.2023 & NEP 2020 provisions)

Qualifying Year Codes

Number of Attempts
There is no limit on the number of attempts for NEET UG. Candidates may appear as many times as they wish, as long as they meet the age and qualification criteria.

- Kerala Board (KBPE) students can opt for Malayalam medium question paper
- NEET score is used for Agri / Fisheries / Dairy / Veterinary colleges in Kerala under State Quota
- After NEET result, register separately at CEE Kerala portal for state quota seats

How to Apply — Step by Step

Register & Create Login
Visit neet.nta.nic.in. Enter your name, date of birth, mobile, email. Note down the system-generated Application Number. Create a secure password (8–13 chars, must have uppercase, lowercase, number & special character).

Fill Application Form
Enter personal details, academic info, select exam city preferences (3 cities), choose question paper medium, select category. Upload: Passport photo (JPG, 10–200 KB), Signature, Fingerprints, Class 10 certificate & marksheet, Category certificate (if applicable).

Pay Application Fee
Pay online via Net Banking / Credit Card / Debit Card / UPI. Wait for Confirmation Page. Save and print the Confirmation Page — it confirms successful submission. Fee once paid is non-refundable.

Keep Documents Ready
Keep 6–8 passport-size photos (white background, post 1 Jan 2026) ready for use in exam hall & counselling. Update Aadhaar details before applying. Keep PwD/UDID certificate updated if applicable.
