Eligibility Criteria — NCHM JEE 2026

Educational Qualification
Candidate must have passed Class 12 (10+2) or equivalent from a recognised board with English as a compulsory subject (core / elective / functional). Candidates currently appearing in Class 12 in 2026 can also apply on provisional basis.
  • Any stream — Science, Commerce, Humanities — all eligible
  • English must be one of the studied subjects (not just medium of instruction)
  • Provisional admissions cancelled if Class 12 pass certificate not produced by September 30, 2026

Minimum Marks in Class 12
NTA does not fix a minimum percentage for appearing in the exam. However, individual IHMs set their own minimum marks for admission during counselling. General guidance:
  • Central IHMs (top tier): Typically 50%+ in qualifying exam
  • SC/ST candidates: Relaxation as per institute norms
  • English subject marks carry extra weightage at some IHMs

Age Limit
No age limit as per the New Education Policy (NEP 2020). Candidates of any age who meet the educational qualification can appear in NCHM JEE 2026.

Physical Fitness
All qualified candidates must submit a Physical Fitness Certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner at the time of admission. The course requires physical capability to carry out practical sessions including:
  • Cutting & chopping vegetables, bulk cooking in training kitchens
  • Bakery & confectionery work, Food & Beverage service in restaurants
  • Bed-making, cleaning, stain-removing, ironing, floor mopping
  • Computer operations for reservations, floor care using vacuum & polishing machines

Visit exams.nta.nic.in/nchm-jee → Click "Register" → Enter name (as in Class 10 certificate), date of birth, mobile number and email. Note the system-generated Application Number. Create a secure password and remember it for future logins.

Step 2 — Fill Form & Upload Documents
Fill personal details, academic info, select category, choose exam city preferences (4 cities). Upload: Passport-size photo (JPG, 10–200 KB, white background, 80% face), Signature (JPG, 4–30 KB), PwD Certificate (if applicable, PDF 10–300 KB). Choose question paper medium (English or Hindi).

Step 3 — Pay Fee & Save Confirmation
Pay fee online via Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI or Wallet. Confirmation Page is proof of successful submission — download and print multiple copies. Fee once paid is non-refundable. NTA will NOT accept any document corrections via post/email/WhatsApp after submission.

Indian Nationals are eligible. Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) may also be eligible as per NTA guidelines. Foreign Nationals — check individual university criteria.

No upper age limit for NCET 2026. However, candidates should verify specific age criteria set by individual participating universities at the time of counselling.

Candidates must have passed or be appearing in Class 12 (10+2) or equivalent from a recognised board, including:
  • CBSE, CISCE (ISC), State Boards across India
  • NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) — minimum 5 subjects
  • Two-year Pre-University, Senior Secondary, or Intermediate examinations
  • Foreign qualifications equivalent to Class 12 as recognised by AIU (Association of Indian Universities)

NTA does not fix a minimum percentage. Each participating university sets its own minimum marks for admission. General guidelines based on past years:
  • Most Central Universities: 50% in Class 12 (General), 45–47% for OBC, 40–45% for SC/ST
  • IITs / NITs: Higher cutoff expected — typically 55–60% in PCM/PCB
  • Candidates appearing in Class 12 in 2026 can apply — must meet percentage criteria by result declaration

Register on Official NTA Portal
Visit exams.nta.nic.in/ncet → Click "New Registration" → Enter name, date of birth, mobile number & email → Verify OTP → Note down your Application Number and Password.

Fill Application Form Carefully
Login and fill personal details, academic details (Class 10 & 12), category, exam city preferences (3 cities). Select domain subjects and university programme — this cannot be changed after submission. Select preferred language medium.

Upload Documents
Upload passport-size photo (JPG, 10–200 KB, white background, 80% face visible), signature (JPG, 4–30 KB), Class 10 certificate, Category certificate (if applicable). Follow size specifications strictly.

Pay Fee & Generate Confirmation Page
Pay fee online (Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking, UPI, Paytm). Print and save the Confirmation Page — it is proof of successful submission. Keep the Application Number for all future reference. Fee is non-refundable.

After Result — University-wise Counselling
NTA does NOT conduct centralised counselling. After NCET result, register separately on the portal of each university you want to join. Each institute releases its own merit list and conducts independent counselling. Document verification happens at the institute level.

  • Kerala SC/ST candidates: No minimum percentage — only pass required
  • Age: Minimum 17 years | Maximum 25 years as on the date of admission
  • For Marine Engineering: additional medical fitness requirements apply

Fill Application Form
Login and fill personal, academic & category details. Select the course(s) you want to apply for — course selection cannot be changed later. Upload passport-size photo (10–500 KB, JPEG, 150×180 px) and signature (10–100 KB, JPEG, 130×57 px).

Pay Application Fee
Pay online via Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking, or UPI. After successful payment, the list of available exam centres appears — select your preferred centre immediately. Save the confirmation receipt.

Download Admit Card & Attend Exam
Admit card will be available in May 2026 on the admissions portal. Download using Registration Number and Date of Birth. Carry printout to exam hall. Exam is CBT — conducted at allotted centre on the specified date.
