The University of Kerala, established in 1937 as the University of Travancore, is one of India's oldest and most distinguished universities. About FYUGP
The Four Year Under Graduate Programme (FYUGP) in the Credit and Semester System (CSS) at the Teaching Departments of University of Kerala offers 16 Major Disciplines and 51 Minor Disciplines. The programme has two broad pathways:
The course has four major components: (1) Foundation Courses — AEC (Ability Enhancement), SEC (Skill Enhancement), VAC (Value Addition), MDC (Multidisciplinary) (2) Discipline Specific Major (3) Discipline Specific Minor/Multidisciplinary (4) Research Component — dissertation, internship and field surveys.

Eligibility Criteria

| Educational Qualification | Pass in Higher Secondary Examination (Kerala State HSE) or ICSE / CBSE / equivalent examination accepted by the University. Candidates awaiting results can also apply — must pass at time of admission. |
| Subject Requirement | Candidates opting for Biology, Physics, Computer Science, Chemistry, or Mathematics must have studied the opted subject at Plus Two (10+2) or equivalent level. |
| Previously Admitted | Any candidate admitted to a FYUG Programme of this University in any subject in earlier years is eligible to apply for any FYUG Programme. |
| Multiple Applications | A candidate may apply for a maximum of 8 FYUG Programmes through a single registration. Multiple separate registrations will lead to rejection. |
| Nationality | Indian citizens. For foreign candidates, relevant University Regulations apply (supernumerary seats available). |

• SC/ST candidates (merit seats OR reserved seats): Exempted from fee payment at time of admission.
• OEC (Other Eligible Community) candidates: Exempted from fee payment irrespective of annual family income (G.O. MS No. 36/07/SCSTDD dated 03.07.2007).
• All admitted candidates (including SC/ST/OEC) must pay the Caution Deposit and Students Care Fund (₹400).

Weightage / Bonus Marks
A weightage of marks normalized to 1.25 (i.e., 15/1200 × 100 = 1.25 marks) will be awarded for the 2026 Admission in the following categories:

Special Reservation (Supernumerary Seats)
One seat shall be allotted to a candidate from the rank list who is not a native of Kerala.
Supernumerary seats for eligible foreign candidates as per regulations governing foreign students' admissions. Not required to appear in entrance examination.
Additional seats exclusively for transgender students as per government norms. Must submit Transgender Identity Card issued by State Government along with relevant documents at time of submitting hard copy of online application.
One seat allotted to a sponsored candidate from Government Departments, R&D Institutions, or Industries with a minimum of two years of work experience. Exempted from entrance examination.
- Minimum 40% disability certified by Medical Authority (District Medical Board or higher)
- Certificate must specify degree and percentage of disability
- Certificate issued not earlier than 12 months prior to admission date
- Selection based strictly on Entrance Examination rank — not on degree of disability
- No seat reservation for blind candidates in Science subjects
- Blind candidates needing a scribe must obtain prior permission from Controller of Examinations, University of Kerala
- PWD candidates must specify their status during online registration
- One seat per UG Degree Programme above sanctioned strength
- Apply online with "Sports – Yes" option during registration; select level of achievement
- Only achievements from the preceding two years / Higher Secondary level are considered
- Achievement certificate must be received before closure of registration
- University conducts centralised verification of Sports Certificates
- 40+ sports disciplines recognised (see Annexure III of Prospectus)
- Tie-breaking major games: Football, Cricket, Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Kabaddi, Athletics, Aquatics
- Seats remain vacant if eligible sports persons are not available
How to Apply – Step by Step
Download and read the FYUGP CSS Prospectus 2026-27 completely before applying. Understand eligibility, reservation, fee, and exam pattern. Do NOT apply without reading the prospectus.
Go to admissions.keralauniversity.ac.in/cssug2026 or css.keralauniversity.ac.in. Register with basic information. Do NOT press the "Back" button during registration.
Provide personal details, category (Gen/SEBC/SC/ST/EWS/PWD), PWD status (if applicable), sports preference (if applicable), and contact information. Keep your credentials safely.
Login using Application Number and Password (default: Date of Birth). Enter personal details and select the programmes you wish to appear for (up to 8 programmes — one from each group maximum). Claims for reservation must be made NOW — they cannot be altered later.
Pay via online payment only. Gen/SEBC: ₹1,200 + ₹150 per additional subject. SC/ST: ₹600 + ₹75 per additional subject. DDs and Cheques are NOT accepted. Fee is NON-REFUNDABLE.
Upload passport-size photograph and scanned signature in the prescribed format/size as per portal instructions.
Download the application form from your candidate profile. Take a printout and keep it safely — Do NOT send the printout to the University. Hardcopy must be produced at the time of admission to the respective department.
Download the Hall Ticket from your candidate profile before the entrance examination dates. Admit cards will NOT be sent by post. The exam venue and timetable will be provided in the admit card.
Appear at the designated exam centre with admit card and a valid Photo ID. 100 MCQs · 2 hours · +1 for correct · −0.25 for wrong answers. No re-examination for absentees. No revaluation of answer scripts.
Rank list published on 15 June 2026. Candidates must report to the HoD of the respective department only when officially announced, with all original documents. APAAR ID is mandatory for completing admission.
