NATIONAL RAIL AND TRANSPORTATION INSTITUTE
The National Rail and Transportation Institute (NRTI), a vision of the Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is India’s first university focussed on transport-related education, multidisciplinary research and training. A Deemed to be University under the de Novo category, NRTI is specifically established to create a resource pool of best-in-class professionals for the railway and transportation sector.
NRTI commenced operations in AY 2018-19 with first batch of 100 undergraduate students in BBA and BSc programmes graduated in 2021

PROGRAMMES
Undergraduate programmes
- BBA in Transportation Management (3 year)
eligibility: 10+2 with maths (All Streams)
- BSc in Transportation Technology (3 year)
ELIGIBILITY: 10+2 WITH MATHS (ALL STREAMS)
- B.Tech. in Rail Infrastructure Engineering (4 year)
- B.Tech. in Rail Systems & Communication Engineering (4 year)
- B.Tech. in Mechanical and Rail Engineering (4 year) at IRIMEE, Jamalpur*
ELIGIBILITY: 10+2 WITH MATHS, PHYSICS & CHEMISTRY (SCIENCE STREAM) CANDIDATES MUST HAVE VALID JEE MAINS 2021 SCORE
Applicants must have completed their 10+2 Board examination with at least 55% marks (50% for OBC/SC/ST) and should be below the age of 25 years as on August 1, 2021
Postgraduate programmes
- MBA in Transportation Management
- MBA in Supply Chain Management
- MSc in Transport Technology and Policy
- MSc in Transport Information Systems and Analytics
- MSc in Railway Systems Engineering & Integration (International degree programme offered in collaboration with University of Birmingham, UK)
ELIGIBILITY: Bachelor's degree in any discipline with Mathematics or statisticsas one of the subjects, with aggregate marks or CGPA/CPI of at least 55% (50% for OBC/SC/ST)
PG Diploma Programmes (for working professionals)
- PGDM in Transportation/Logistics
- PGDM in Transport Infrastructure Development & Financing/ Project Management
ELIGIBILITY: Working Professionals with the above qualifications. Some diplomas may require a minimum work experience
SELECTION PROCESS
- NRTI UG and PG Entrance Tests (for aptitude) will be administered on Aug 1, 2021 at multiple locations across the country.
- Selection to BBA, BSc programmes will be based on score in NRTI UG Entrance Test.
- Selection to B.Tech. programmes will be based on JEE Mains 2021 scores.
- Applicants for the MSc programmes shortlisted on the basis of NRTI PG Entrance Test, will be required to appear for a subject test and interview; admission will be offered based on overall results
- Applicants to the MBA programmes who have valid CAT (2020), XAT (2021) or MAT (later than May 2020) scores may be exempted from PG entrance Test. Applicants shortlisted on the basis of their score in NRTI PG Entrance Test or CAT/XAT/MAT as above will be required to appear for personal interview; admission will be offered based on overall results.
- Applicants for the PG Diploma programmes shortlisted on the basis of PG entrance test, will be required to appear for an interview; admission will be offered based on the overall results.

- NRTI UG and PG Entrance Tests: Aug 1, 2021 (to be administered at multiple locations across the country)
