Regional Institute of Education Common Entrance Examination 2023 is conducted by National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). This entrance exam is organized at the National Level.         The Indian Maritime University (IMU) was established on 14th November 2008 as a teaching-cum-affiliating university under the aegis of the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India, with Chennai as headquarters. Eligibility criteria changed for this year

IISER Admission 2023 Notification has been released. It will be organized by the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research. IISER organizes a national level test known as IISER SCB Aptitude test to offer admission in 5 year dual degree programme of BS-MS.  Admission will be done through three channels – SCB, KVPY and on the basis of JEE Advanced exam. While JEE Advanced & KVPY are national level examination, but SCB is an only stream through which candidates will get admission on the basis of entrance test which IISER will conduct. Admission will be offered into seven IISER institutions situated in Tirupati, Mohali, Bhopal, Berhampur, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram and Kolkata.

• BS-MS (Dual Degree)
• It is a five-year degree program for bright and motivated science students who have passed class 10+2 or equivalent. Most IISERs offer BS-MS (Dual Degree) in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics. Earth and Environmental Sciences is available at select IISERs. • The BS-MS program integrates classroom learning with research and provides ample scope for multidisciplinary interactions. The program consists of core courses in basic sciences and specialization in chosen subjects along with an MS research project. The training during this program enables students to pursue careers in academia, R&D institutes, and industries.
• Additionally, IISER Bhopal offers four year BS programmes in Economics and Engineering Sciences. Mathematics at 10+2 level is mandatory for candidates seeking admission to both these BS programmes

Eligibility

• Applicants must be Indian nationals or PIO or OCI in order to apply through KVPY or JEE (advanced) or IAT channels. Candidates who are NOT Indian nationals or PIO or OCI can apply for admission only through the JEE (Advanced) channel.

• Candidates must have passed Class XII (or equivalent) exam with science stream in 2022 or 2023 from any board recognized by Council of Boards of School Education in India COBSE.

• Candidates must have taken at least three subjects among Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics during their Class XII (or equivalent) exam.

• Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD should have scored a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in their Class XII (or equivalent) exam. Candidates belonging to other categories should have scored a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in their Class XII (or equivalent) exam.

• Admission Channels

  There are three channels for admission.

  • Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) Channel
  • Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) of the Indian Institutes of Technology Channel
  • IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) Channel

  The three channels will be referred to as KVPY, JEE and IAT respectively.

  A candidate can apply through any one or two or all the three channels, provided they satisfy the overall eligibility conditions and specific eligibility conditions for those channels.

  • IAT Channel
    • Candidates seeking admission through this channel must appear for a computer-based IISER Aptitude Test(IAT-2023).
    • IAT-2023 will be conducted on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 9:00 AM, at various centres across the country.
  • KVPY Channel
    • The KVPY-SA-2021 students who have received the provisional KVPY fellowship award are eligible to apply for admissions.
    • Candidates in the extended KVPY merit list are not eligible.
    • Candidates seeking admission under this channel do not have to appear for IAT-2023.
  • JEE Channel
    • Candidates seeking admission under JEE channel should have qualified in the JEE (Advanced) in the year 2023, AND should have a rank within 15000 in the common rank list or in the respective category rank lists (GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD).
    • Those who qualified JEE (Advanced) in any year other than 2023 are not eligible.
    • Candidates with JEE (Advanced) preparatory ranks are not eligible.
    • Candidates seeking admission under this channel do not have to appear for IAT-2023.

  Performance Criteria in Qualifying Examination

  • Candidates whose Class XII (or equivalent) exam results are not yet declared, can apply for admission to IISERs. However, their admission will be subject to fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria given above.
  • For candidates who had appeared in the Class XII (or equivalent) exam for the first time in 2022 and reappeared in any subject (for whatsoever reason) in 2023, the better of two performances will be considered.
  • If a board gives aggregate marks considering both Class XI and Class XII, then only Class XII (or equivalent) exam marks will be considered. If a board gives aggregate marks considering the results of all three years of a 3-year diploma or courses of equivalent duration, then only the marks scored in the final year will be considered. Similarly, for boards which follow a semester system, the marks scored in the final two semesters will be considered.

  • If a board awards only letter grades without providing an equivalent percentage of marks on the grade-sheet, the candidate should obtain a certificate from the board specifying the equivalent marks and submit it before the deadline of the mark-sheet submission. In case such a certificate is not provided by the board, the percentage marks will be assessed as follows:

       National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) is a compulsory test for students seeking admission to National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar and University of Mumbai - Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS), Mumbai. Both NISER and UM-DAE CEBS were set up by Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India in 2007. Their mandate is to train scientific manpower for carrying out cutting edge scientific research and for providing input to scientific programmes of Department of Atomic Energy and other applied science institutions in the country. NEST 2023 will be conducted in around 120 cities [see list] cities across India.

The candidates admitted to the programme in NISER, or CEBS, are eligible to receive an annual scholarship of Rs 60,000 through the DISHA program of the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. In addition, the scholarship recipients receive a grant of Rs 20,000 per annum for the summer internship. Alumni of the programme are presently pursuing Ph.D. at reputed universities and institutes in India & abroad. Besides, top performers at NISER and CEBS, securing overall grades above a certain threshold at the end of the programme, are eligible to appear directly for the interview for admission to Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) training school.

COURSES OFFERD

• NISER offers a 5 year integrated M.Sc. programme in Biological, Chemical, Mathematical and Physical sciences. Along with the major subject, a student can have minor in Biology, Chemistry, Computer science, Mathematics or, Physics. NISER functions from its campus at Jatni. Degrees at NISER will be awarded by the Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI), a deemed-to-be University within the Department of Atomic Energy.

• There are a total of 200 seats this year, which include reserved seats for SC/ST/OBC/Divyangjan candidates as per Government norms. 2 supernumerary seats are reserved for eligible candidates from J&K and Ladakh. If offered admission under the OBC-NCL category, the candidate must produce the relevant valid certificate on the date of admission. Eligibility criteria for admission

• Candidates must qualify all four eligibility criteria listed below:

  • Candidates in the Unreserved and OBC categories must have been born on or after August 01, 2003. The age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ ST/ Divyangjan candidates.

  • Class XII qualifying examination must have passed in either 2021 or 2022. Candidates appearing in 2023 are also eligible. (Where only Letter Grade is given by the Board, a certificate from the Board specifying equivalent percentage marks will be required. In the absence of such a certificate the decision of the respective Admission Committees will be final.)
    

  • At least 60% marks in aggregate (or equivalent grade) in Class XII examination from any recognized Board in India. For Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates and for Divyangjan candidates, the minimum requirement is 55%.
    

  • Candidate should secure a position in the NEST 2023 merit list.

Engineering Courses 

• Admission to Engineering Courses in Kerala is based on the Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Kerala. Engineering rank is prepared by giving equal weightage of 50:50 to the score obtained in the Entrance Examination conducted by CEE for Engineering and the marks obtained in the final year of the qualifying examination for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together, after effecting the standardization procedure as described in Clause 9.7.4 (b)(iii). 
• B. Tech. [including B. Tech. (Agri. Engg.) & B. Tech. (Food Tech.) Courses under the Kerala Agricultural University, B. Tech. (Dairy Technology) & B. Tech. (Food Technology) courses under the Kerala Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, B. Tech. (Food Technology) course under the Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies].

 Pharmacy Course

• B.Pharm Rank list will be prepared, as per Clause 9.7.4 (f), on the basis of Index mark calculated from the score obtained in Paper-1 (Physics & Chemistry) of the Engineering Entrance Examination.
• B. Pharm.

Architecture Course

• The Architecture Rank list will be prepared by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations by giving equal weightage to the marks obtained in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA), conducted by the Council of Architecture, and the marks in the qualifying examination.
• B.Arch.

• കേരളത്തിലെ 85 %  മെഡിക്കൽ ,മെഡിക്കൽ അനുബന്ധ കോഴ്സുകളിലേക്കുള്ള സീറ്റുകളിലേക്ക് പ്രവേശനം ലഭിക്കണമെങ്കിൽ NEET പരീക്ഷ നിർബന്ധമായും യോഗ്യത നേടിയിരിക്കണം .
•  എഞ്ചിനീയറിംഗ് ,ഫാർമസി എന്നിവയിലേക്ക് പ്രവേശന ലഭിക്കണമെങ്കിൽ പരീക്ഷാ കമ്മിഷണർ നടത്തുന്ന പ്രവേശനപരീക്ഷയുടെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിലാണ്  നടത്തുക . 
• ഫാർമസി പ്രവേശനം ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവർ പ്രവേശനപരീക്ഷയുടെ പേപ്പർ 1  (ഫിസിക്സ് ,മാത്‍സ് ) എഴുതണം .
• ആർക്കിടെക്ചർ പ്രവേശനത്തിന് NATA യോഗ്യത നേടണം .

 ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

• Only Indian citizens are eligible for admission
• For admission to MBBS, BDS:Plus two with PCB/Biotechnology and English with 50%
• For admission to BAMS/ BHMS/BSMS courses:  Plus two with PCB and English with 50%
• For admission to BUMS course:Plus two with PCB and English with 50% ( The candidates should have passed 10th or 12th standard with Urdu or Arabic or Persian language as a subject or clear the test of Urdu in the Entrance Examinations conducted by University or Board or Registered society authorized by the Govt. to conduct such examination or the PreTib Examination of one year duration.)
• For admission to B.Sc.(Hons.) Agri., B.Sc.(Hons) Forestry, BFSc courses: Plus two with PCB and English with 50%
• For admission to BVSc. & AH Course: Plus two with PCB and English with 50%
• Engineering courses: Plus two with Phy and Maths with Chemistry/Biotechnology/computersciece with 45 % score. ***
• Architecture course:10+2 scheme of examination with at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and also at least 50% marks in aggregate of the 10+2 level examination or passed 10+3 Diploma examinations with Mathematics as compulsory subject with at least 50 % marks in aggregate are eligible for Architecture course. 
• B.Pharm course: Plus two with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology as optional subjects individually .
