What is NATA
- Any person desirous of carrying on the profession as 'Architect' must have registration with Council of Architecture.
- As per the Council of Architecture (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education) Regulations, 2020, qualifying in an aptitude test in Architecture conducted by the Council is a mandatory requirement for admission to B.Arch. degree course.
- Candidates may note that NATA 2022 is the qualifier for admission to B.Arch. program offered by Universities/ Institutions in the country, subject to the fulfillment of eligibility criteria as prescribed by the Council.
- QUALIFYING IN NATA- 2022 DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A RIGHT/ GUARANTEE IN FAVOUR OF THE CANDIDATE FOR ADMISSION TO ANY ARCHITECTURE COURSE UNLESS THE CANDIDATE HAS FULFILLED ALL THE PRESCRIBED REQUIREMENTS AS SPECIFIED BY RESPECTIVE COMPETENT AUTHORITIES IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE ELIGIBILIY CRITERIA LAID DOWN BY THE COUNCIL.
- NATA 2022 will be conducted as a comprehensive online aptitude test at the Council allotted centers in identified cities in the country.
- Unlike any other entrance examination, NATA is an Aptitude test that assesses a candidate’s innate ability through a variety of testing formats and cannot be taught, learnt or induced. Therefore, attending coaching classes will not substantially improve the aptitude of a candidate.
- With the objective of giving opportunities to a greater number of bright aspirants, Council will be conducting NATA- 2022 for admission to B.Arch. in the academic session 2022 - 2022 thrise this year.
“No candidate shall be admitted to architecture course unless he has passed an examination at the end of the
10+2 scheme of examination with at least 50 per cent. Aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and
Mathematics and also at least 50 per cent. marks in aggregate of the 10+2 level examination or passed 10+3
Diploma Examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject with at least 50 per cent. marks in aggregate.”
Exam pattern
The test shall consist of two parts: Part A is on Drawing, which is paper based and Part B comprises of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)on Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and general aptitude which is to be answered online.
Exam Dates
- The three Tests shall be held on June 12, 2022, July 3, 2022 and July 24, 2022 respectively.
- Appearing in second test is not mandatory and is purely at the discretion of the applicants. Candidates can register themselves either for first test or second test OR for both by filling in the application form appropriately.
Validity of NATA-2020 score
- NATA- 2022 score shall be valid only for admission in the academic session 2022- 2023

- Irrespective of his/her gender, a candidate applying for NATA– 2020, either first test or second test, has to pay INRRs.2,000/-(Rupees Two thousand only)as application fee, through ONLINE mode. In case the Candidate wishes to appear for both first and second test, he/she shall deposit Rss Rs 4000/- (Rupees Four thousand only). as application fees.
- Candidates belonging to SC/ST and PWD category need to deposit Rs 1,500/- for either first or second test and Rs 3,000/- for appearing in both the tests through online mode.***
Eligibility Criteria for Candidates
- Passed 10+2 level examination with at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) and also at least 50% marks in aggregate of the 10+2 level examination or passed 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate, shall be eligible to appear for NATA-2020.
- The candidates appearing for 10+2 examination with PCM or 10+3 Diploma with Mathematics.
